DONOR SIBLING REGISTRY

Anyone out there signed up with the Donor Sibling Registry? If so, what's your experience been like? If you don't want to write it in comments, you can just email us at twogeorgiamommies-at-gmail-dot-com.

we picked our donor partially on the fact that he was listed on the DSR. If he "works" we will (in theory) have access to him.

My partner and I have just listed ourselves and our son on the DSR. So far, there are 2 other boys on the site from the same donor. They have not tried to make contact with us, although I have sent both e-mails. It is exciting to think that we may be able to meet some half-siblings.

My partner and I also just posted our donors numbers on the DSR. We just learned about this through a friend who has found siblings of her son on the Cal. Cryo bank sibling registry and it got my curiosity going. So far, our oldest son has two half siblings listed from the same donor as well as two half sisters that we knew of from the donor profile we got right after we got pregant with him. We havent had any matches with our youngest sons' donor number but we never give up the hope for him. We have left messages for the two siblings on the DSR but havent gotten any replies as of yet. Thanks for your web site to be able to talk about our experiences.

I have a child via anonymous donor and have posted on the DSR. It has been a great site to find half siblings. That being said, however, I have had some negative experiences with the DSR and have heard of many, many others having similar experiences. The owner often censors information and makes false accusations about others. Many have told me that they have been banned from her site just for posting things she doesn't agree with and being persistent about it. She claims she doesn't do so, but there are many who know she does. Also, people are afraid to take her to task for fear that they'll be banned from the site, as well. I'll stick to other sites instead of sending my money her way. www.amfor.net has lots of connections, as does www.donoroffspringhealth.com. You can also search the yahoo groups for discussion groups already started, or start your own so people can find you there. Many of the banks are also starting their own registries.
